Incheon airport layover: stay at airport or go for tour?

Sarah M asked:

I have a 5-hour layover at Incheon airport soon, I have heard that the airport is really cool but they also have like 1-hour and 2-hour transit tours that take you shopping or to a temple outside the airport. Which one should I do? Is the airport really cooler than a tour?

Tour, go enjoy, you can always see the airport on another date/flight

It takes an hour to get into Seoul from the airport, so you do not have that much time. If you stay close to the airport you could do it.
There is a new town next to the airport with stores and hotels, etc.

the incheon airport has been awarded the best airport, so i think it would be a good idea to take the tour that takes you shopping(unless you find temples interesting, then take that one), then spend the rest of your time strolling through the airport.
