Incheon Tourism : Travel Guide for Incheon, South Korea

South Korea’s main international gateway is in Incheon. The Incheon International Airport or IIAC is actually on an island within the city limits by the name of Yeongjong Island. However, there is a super efficient train which can have you to Incheon Subway in 20 mins. Incheon International Airport was opened in 2001 and replaced Gimpo International Airport. By 2005, IIAC had already flown 100 million passengers all over the world. By 2006 the airport had managed over 10 million tons of luggage and cargo. During 2007, Incheon International Airport recorded 100,000 hours of accident free flights. In 2008 the second phase of the airport was completed. From 2001 to present Incheon Airport has received many awards in all aspects of airport operations and safety.

Incheon Airport has the lofty goal of being the ‘Top Global Air Hub’ by 2010 by “by offering maximum customer satisfaction beyond expectation with our professionalism in safety and security while re-positioning ourselves as most competitive global airport through strengthening our core competencies and sharpening our creativity,” which can be a symbol of pride to the Korean people. They also strive to server the North East Asian air-hub for logistics and business flow by integrating cargo, business, passengers, cultures and entertainment backed with globally competitive infrastructure and air-city.

There are three main hotels near IIAC: Air Garden Transit Hotel, Best Western Hotel, and Hyatt Regency Hotel.
